Homemade Béchamel sauce
Béchamel sauce is thick white sauce goes with lasagna, pasta, gratins and scalloped potatoes.
Preparation time-5 minutes
Cooking time-10 minutes
Ingredients Quantity
Butter 20g
Plain flour 20g
Milk 300ml
Onion cloute 1
Method
1. Place milk, onion cloute in a pan and bring to almost boiling.
2. Melt butter in a saucepan low flame; add flour, cook, and stirring, for 3 minutes until boiling, add boiled milk, reduce heat to low, whisk constantly to prevent lumps and burning, continue to cook for 5 minutes until sauce thickens.
3. Transfer sauce to bowl cover with wrap. Store in to fridge.
