RIP Ron Perranoski

The third former LA Dodgers player to die this week (Jay Johnstone & Sweet Lou Johnson), Ron Perranoski passed away Friday, October 2 at the age of 84.  HOF pitcher Bob Gibson had also died that day making very tough week for LA and baseball in general.

Ron came up with the Dodgers in 1961 (I always loved that high number rookie card of his) and stayed with the team until 1967, when he was traded with Bob Miller & John Roseboro to the Twins for Jim grant and Zoilo Versalles.  He would rejoin LA as a free agent in August 1972 for 9 games, posting a 2-0 record before being released after the season ended.  His Dodger career was not over though, as he would be Tommy Lasorda's pitching coach from 1981-1994.

RIP Mr. Perranoski!
